Gravity Falls Review

Anyone growing up in the 80s and 90s knows that Disney used to have some of the absolute best cartoons: Duck Tales, Gummi Bears, TailSpin, and Darkwing Duck! Friggin’ Darkwing Duck! How could anyone forget that show??
…Unfortunately, despite the efforts of shows like Kim Possible, Disney has been stumbling around like a blind kitten in some sort of self-induced boy/girl teeny-bopper Dark Ages, force-feeding kids these days the same boring, cookie-cutter sitcom crap with future drug abusers.

Horror Flick Of The Day: Night Claws

Night Claws stars Reb Brown(Howling II),Frank Stallone(Fred Clause, Rocky Balboa), and quite a few others. A small town is being terrorized by a killer Bigfoot. One that is blood thirsty, vicious and kills without warning and without discrimination. A scientist by the name of Sarah Evans (Leilani Sarelle) shows up to help the town’s sheriff (Reb Brown) and his deputy girlfriend Roberta (Sherrie Rose) hunt this thing down and put an end to the killings. At the same time, Hunter Crawford (David Campbell) is a thug-like character who along with his two henchmen, is hunting the creature himself, for his own personal gain and he does not care who he has to go through to accomplish this. Enter Charlie Parker (Ted Prior) a tough east coast type who is on a survivalist camping trip, led by the seasoned survivalist Sharon Farmer (Tara Sanford Kleinpeter) at the behest of his young trophy wife (Alissa Koenig) and whom, by no fault of his own, winds up being used as bait for the creature, by Hunter. But there is more at work here than meets the eye.

Basically this movie is a bigfoot film with a sort of small town mafia film rolled into it, it’s a bit convoluted. Night Claws for one is a terrible name that just screams Syfy original film, even though it isn’t one; the effects are actually worst than any Syfy original made today which is pretty bad. The acting is absolutely atrocious, the story is just plain bad, and the soundtrack/effects are abysmal.

I have seen my fair share of B-movies but this one really takes the cake on just how bad it truly is, I really felt like the hour and twenty-three minutes of my life was wasted; not to mention the money spent to rent it. I would truly avoid this film at all costs if I were you, after all I already wasted my time for you! If you feel like giving it a try however it is on DVD and available through Amazon Instant Video. I mean really even the make-up done by the absolute worst contestants on Face Off was better than the furry suit of the so called Bigfoot in the film.

Original Short Story: The Dark One [Part One] by Seth Brooks

Chapter 1
This is something i wrote while waiting at the VA hospital with my dad. It’s really rough, but let me know what you think and if you would be interested in reading more. This story uses Elements of the World of Darkness Table Top RPG by White Wolf.

Vampires are now known in our culture as moody, teen aged, pretty boys. Some would say this is a rather good disguise for the monsters we really are, others hate to be associated with such tripe. The real vampire is a ruthless, blood thirsty, killing machine; we are also not solitary beings by nature. Most vampires reside in a sect or coven; we are divided by our sub-classes as well and rarely associate with those of other sects. I am an exception to that rule; I was reborn as a Nosferatu, considered one of the lowest sects of the vampire race. Due to our ghastly appearance we often operate in the shadows and behind the scenes so that we are not exposed for what we truly are.

My story begins in the city of Atlanta. I was out with a group of friends, somehow we got separated and I found myself down an unfamiliar alleyway. I thought I was hearing footsteps behind me and when I turned around I was met by the most terrifying thing I had ever seen; the creature standing before me stood 6 foot and seemed to tower over me, her skin was a pale white, long fangs protruded from her mouth, her eyes were blood red, and the hair on her head was thin and sickly looking. Mere moments are seeing this thing I turned to run but found that I was stuck in place, I felt her fangs pierce my skin and blacked out. Continue reading

Things get worse every time he tries to just hide his stress, by burying it inside. It all comes to a head when that “stress” is turned in to an actual little beast that exits his body via his butt and takes revenge on the things that stress him out. But it soon starts to threaten the one thing he loves, his wife. Continue reading

Original Poem: The Little Red Hood by Richard Tanner

This is a horror poem of an original take of a classic tale by author Richard Tanner.

She told me she loved me.
She cooed it actually, making my hair stand on end.
She did a lot of things like that.
She bent over in that tight red dress that
Showed her legs for miles and said
“Ooooo… what a big…uhhh… hand you have there.”
My heart skipped a beat but for some reason
I came right back, “All the better to… hold you close, dear.”
She pulled her hood down,
Letting it drape then slide down her shoulders.
“Ooooo… what a luscious set of lips you have.”
I nearly crawled out of my skin… how could such
A sweet girl do this to me.
“All the better to taste you with, my sweetness.”
She was so beautiful… So fresh… So young.
I swear half the time I saw her I was drooling.
She reached back, tying my hands to the bed and
Kissed my chest as she traveled down to tie my feet.
I was completely hers. Continue reading

Original Short Story: Night Terrors by Seth Brooks

The Boy Sat up Startled and awoken from his sleep, it was the dream again; the one he’d been having for months now. His heart raced, and he was sweating profusely; what did the dream mean? Why did he keep having the same one over and over? He lay back down, the thoughts still swimming in his head while the images from his dream kept playing; people screaming in terror as a masked figure tore through them with a knife in each hand, he saw himself hiding in the corner of a small room as the man made his way toward him slowly. The moment the man struck down at him with one of the knives was the point in which the boy always woke up, his heart always racing with sweat pouring from his body. Continue reading

Original Short Story: Ordinary World by Seth Brooks

Alright this one isn’t exactly horror, but I believe it’s one of the better shorts that I’ve written. I kind of just stole the name from the song I was listening to at the time. Let me know what you think! -Demented

Have you ever had that feeling that you were completely and utterly alone in this world? Adam has always felt this way, even before the world had ended. It seems like only yesterday but really he has been alone for several months now. The world ended not in a bang but with whimper; when you think of the end you always picture a natural disaster, hordes of zombies, or a plague ravaging the planet. This was not the case for Adam, he simply woke up one day to find that he was possibly the last human being on a planet that used to house billions. This wasn’t the weirdest thing about it though, not only were the people gone but so was the wild life; like all life on the planet except for Adam had simply vanished. Still every once in a while during his excursions into the once heavily populated and bustling city of Atlanta he swears he can hear the train cars of Marta whizzing by on the tracks or planes passing by overhead. Continue reading
